Hair Maintenance

When it comes to hair extensions the biggest misconception is how important it is to cleanse them. One of the best and easiest things you can do to maintain your hair extensions is co-washing! Co-washing is simply “conditioning-washing” with benefits of smooth sleeker hair and moist curls . You want to ensure you’re washing away any bacteria, chemicals or even smells. We recommend using a deep conditioner on your virgin hair often. Continue reading below to find out some techniques you can use to co-wash your hair extensions.

How to co wash hair extensions
Step 1:  Wet your hair extensions completely with water then apply a moisturizing conditioner from weft to tip. Don’t be afraid to be generous, use as much conditioner as you desire !
Step 2: Grab your wide-toothed comb and run it through your hair.  Take time to fully saturate the extensions into the water and let soak in the conditioner to penetrate the hair strands for a few minutes.
Step 3: After about five to ten minutes, rinse out the conditioner with cold water. The importance of cool water is so the cuticles can open, the hair will be moist and properly clean hair strands.
Step 4:  Finally, Place the hair on a dry towel or thick T-shirt to remove excess water from the hair. Next, find a hanger to let your extensions air dry. To save time you can blow-dry the weft with light heat. Afterward, let the extensions air dry. Remember moisture is not your friend. The hair may be dry but the weft may not be. Double-check the wefts for moisture, please.

Before you go to bed
You can easily learn how to prepare your extensions before a good night's rest. Gently brush hair to remove all tangles. Using a silk scarf, tie around the circumference of your head, then tie from around the back and knot it near your forehead area. You must NEVER sleep on wet hair !! Sleeping on wet hair is known to matte hair that makes it very difficult to keep the hair the way you want. Rolling your hair in rods or braiding your hair in big braids at night will maintain your curls and limit the amount of heat you have to use on your hair daily. After waking up, undo braid and comb using a wide toothed comb (or paddle brush) through beginning at the ends and working your way up to roots.

Curly & Wavy Hair
Most people think that curly hair is low maintenance but it actually requires the most upkeep and it needs to be wet EVERY SINGLE DAY so you can apply the curl defined crème.

-Detangle your hair extensions every morning and every night  ONLY when the hair is wet (detangling your hair while it's dry can cause breakage, shedding, and loss of hair).

-Use a leave-in conditioner/water mix to help keep your curls/waves moisturized.

-ALWAYS comb/detangle from the ends up.

- ALWAYS use cold water, hot or warm water will loosen the curl pattern
Coloring & Bleaching
All of our weaves are made out of 100% human virgin Remy hair, which means that they are able to be colored or bleached to virtually any color at all. At the same time, it's important to remember that coloring and bleaching are both chemical-type processes that can remove moisture from hair, including hair extensions, which will make them dry. If you are not familiar with coloring hair please take extensions to a professional colorist!! Always let a licensed professional color your bundles even if it is as simple as applying a black semi-permanent rinse. Don't do it yourself.
What is Virgin Hair?
Virgin hair means the hair is chemical–free, unprocessed, natural 100% human hair.

What does Remy mean?
Remy or Cuticle Hair means the hair has healthy, intact cuticles which are all aligned in the same direction from the root to the tip. This ensures the hair is tangle-free. Usually, remy hair is single cut ponytail directly from a one donor’s head per one bundle. Remy hair will be high quality hair that can last for many installs and various styles.
